My Top 10 Linux Distros

Hi guys,

Just writing a small list of my favorite linux distros. There are so many out there, but I have tried a lot, so here are my 10 findings:

Fedora: Fedora has a solid base, as well as many great features such as advanced firewall and pulse audio. It’s graphical side is beautiful, and is a great well rounded distro.
Opensuse: I like opensuse for it’s consistant design, and solid feature set. It has a very heavily customized kernal, so may not run fast on slow computers, but it is worth the sacrifice, as it provides a very proffesional distro.
puppy linux: I do not reccomend this as a full time os, as it is limited, but on a dual boot, puppy starts up at blinding speeds, and is lightning when it runs. For web browsing, email, and personel productivity, this is great. It would also be great on an old laptop, as it will revive any old hardware.

Gos: Gos is a commercial OS in the sense that it has partners that ship compuuters with it on, but the is free to download. This linux distro is very web based, and great for a laptop. Underneath the fast UI is a full featured linux distro with openoffice, and all the usual tools. GOS is based on ubuntu, so is stable fast.
Zenwalk is a programmers heaven. It has built in support for almost every language ever, and has lots of useful tools such as I.D.E’s and hex aditors. I have had problems on zenwalk in the past on the networking front, but I have some pretty strange PC’s, so I wasnt too suprised.
Ubuntu: The name ” Ubuntu” is starting to become the name for linux, and it is hardly suprising. ubuntu is a professional well built distro, with a regular 6 month release cycle, and security updates. It is very easy to use, and has many variants taking after it.
Xubuntu: One of the forementioned variants, this is ubuntu built for speed. Using the fast XFCE deesktop enviroment, and with many other tweaks, this is the full ubuntu slimmed down. Great for people with old computers, or speed freaks!
Slackware is the oldest linux distro, and has plenty to show for it’s years. Aimed at more advanced users, this distro doesn’t try and customize every thing. Instead, it tries to keep to the original source as much as possible, while remaining secure, and powerful. The result? A distro for: servers, desktop machines, and for anyone that needs a barebones OS.
Debian: Debian is simmilar to Slackware, as it is aimed at power users and administrators, but uses the DEB system instead of source code. This means that packages compile faster, and make the system easier to change. Ubuntu is a fork of debian, and after it’s success, maybe we should look at the roots.
PC linux: PC linux aims to be as user frienly as possible. It has wizards galore, and has an extreemly simple look to it. Do not be fooled by apperences however, as pc linux has a very powerful package managment system, making it veryy easy to customize. Ubuntu and PClinux are perfect for anyone starting linux.
So, there we are. My top 10 distros (In no particular order.)

Neobux (Guide)

Nearly everyone has had some annoying popup on a website trying to get you to join a “make money from home” website. The quotation marks are around the text, as making money online has become somewhat of a cliché. Most money making websites are a scam. This is unfortunate, as real, fairly easy ways to make a good amount of money online, do exist. These however, are few and far between. This section of my website is going to show you how to make money online with neobux.

Introduction

Have you heard of P.T.C sites? If you havent, they are Paid To Click sites: you sign up and click adverts, and apparently “earn money”. The quotation marks are around the text, as making money online has almost become a cliche. Many online money making schemes are scams. This is unfortunate, as real legitimate sites do exist. Neobux, is one of these, and has a $1.00 minimum payout, which is brilliant, compared to some which can be around $10.00. Neobux also has a revolutionary new feature: rented referals. This means, that unlike most other referal systems, you can easily buy referals. It is because of this, that with neobux, you can with effort and time, can make $9000 a year. Not life changing, but a brilliant second income.

So lets get started! (feel free to download this guide, but dont edit it and say that you wrote it!)

Disclaimer: This guide is just guidelines and may not be 100% accurate. You do not need to invest anything, but if you do then you do so entirly at your own risk.
Things you will need:

I recommend that you have all of these before starting

A paypal account (needs to be verified)
A notebook and pen (For keeping track of referals)
Optional: around $5 (This will speed up the process)
Make sure you have all the above, then continue to step 1.
Step 1
Sign up to neobux:

Okay, now when you sign up to neobux, you may be asked questions about paypal email and stuff like such, so have all the needed things to hand.

1: click the following link: Neobux

2 See the left hand yellow box? good. At the bottom is a “register now button”. Click it.

3 Fill in the regestration form.

4 Click the “continue” button at the bottom.

5 Finish.

Note: It’s a while since I registered, so this might not be totally correct. If there is missing or wrong bits, please email me, so I can make this a better guide. My email is “tod@ploo.co.uk” Thanks a lot.
Step 2
Standard member

Cool, now you’ve signed up, the next step is to start earnning. You will be a standard member to begin with, so you won’t start earning huge amounts right away, around $0.30 is very good after around 3 days! When you start out with neobux, it isn’t how usefull the money is, it’s how much money you’ve earnt. So, here are the steps.

click “view advertisments” to begin earning. Click on any of the advertisments, and let the loading bar go all the way, and then it say that money has been credited to your account.
Click on all the advertisments every day. This is very important, as to upgrade and make more money, you will need to have seen 50 adverts. This will take a while unless you click every day.
Once you earn 75 cents, you can buy referals. Lots of people may buy the referals, end up with loads of bad ones, and cant replace them. It is because of this, that I advise that you wait until you have $5.00 before you buy any referals. Lots of other guides out there say $3.00, but I think $5.00 is a much better amount, as you will have to recycle them as well a pay to keep them.

Steps to renting
To rent referals, click on your username, and then, there will be button on a line at the top of the main box. Click on referals, and then click add funds. Add $5.00 through your main neobux account. I paid with paypal money, as I didnt want to wait, but I advise waiting a little while to familiarise yourself with neobux, as you may have trouble with referals if you have trouble finding your way around. Buy a small amount of referals. (3 referals) You can only rent referals once a week to start off with, so after a week repeat buying a small amount of referalls if you have enough money. If you dont, then keep clicking, to get your balacne nice and healthy again. If you buy referals when you have not much money left, you can end up making things worse, as you have the referals to spend money on, as well as more replacing.
Recycling
Not all referals are perfect. In fact not many are. It is because of this that you will need to recycle. However recycling is no simple matter, as it can be quite costly. Each time you recycle, it will cost you a whole 8 cents. The skill lies in recyling so that you have good referals, but not recycling so much that it loses you money.

Here is my recyling stratagy for standard:
To recycle a referal, they must:
-Not have clicked for over 4 days.
-have an average below 2
It is a good idea to keep track of your referals, to see their clicking habits, so you dont recycle a good one. So, if you know that they click very regularly, and then they stop for 4 days, then dont instantly recycle them, they might just be on holiday.

Once you are happy with recycling, you should start to buy largeer amounts of referals. These will (if you are good at recycling) make you more money. Keep buying referals in packs of 3, or maybe higher if you are confident, untill you have around 500. once you do, keep on recycling, and clicking. You will soon have $100 with $90 of this money, buy the golden pack, which will last for a year. The golden pack will give you 1 cent per referal click instead of 0.5. It will double your earnings. simple as that. I am not golden yet, so I cant offer any advice on that, but hopefully I will be soon, and I will be able to offer a golden section to this guide. Anyway, here are the requirements:

Must rent referalls twice (as covered above)
been member for at least 15 days
have clicked adverts 50 times (takes around 2-3 weeks if you click every day.)
Direct refs
Rented referals are great, and all, but they do cost money to rent. To be able to save up enough money to go golden, you will need a few direect referals.
Direct referals are “normal” referals. That is, what most other companies use. They are a person who signs up to neobux under your name. This usually involves trying to persuade somone you know to sign up to neobux, which can be a difficult, an d unfruitful event.
These are some good ways to get direct referals without bugging your friends:

Do what I have done – set up a blog or website
Use free advertising (email exchange, or traffic exchanges)
Write a guide on neobux, and email it to lots of people. Use all your contacts, or use an email exchange site.
A good email exchange site is listjoe

As I have no golden section yet, you can go to this guide, which is more focused on golden: advanced guide
I hope you have enjoyed this guide, and wish you all the best with making money with neobux.
